The Property Care Association (PCA) is the trade association representing specialists across the UK who can be trusted to resolve issues affecting buildings.  Noted for its training and technical expertise, the PCA incorporates the British Wood Preserving and Damp-proofing Association (BWPDA), which has been in formation for more than 85 years.  Companies who are PCA members have to meet and maintain strict criteria to demonstrate their technical competence and service delivery standards.  The Invasive Weed Control Group (IWCG) sector of membership of the PCA specifically represents specialists who provide services for the management and control of invasive non-native species, such as Japanese Knotweed.  In 2012 the PCA worked with RICS, supported by the Council of Mortgage Lenders, the Building Societies Association and Japanese Knotweed control management companies to set up the Invasive Weed Control Group (IWCG). The membership of this sector has grown significantly and provides property owners with a means of identifying technically competent specialists who can help with the eradication of invasive plant species.
