Amenity Forum Update

Posted on : 9th March 2026

Last week the Amenity Forum held its first members meeting of the year during which plans to significantly increase the activity of the group were discussed. At the 2025 conference, Chairman Ian Graham sought the approval of member delegates for the Forum to adopt a more proactive approach in responding to media coverage, ensuring that technical issues affecting the sector are represented accurately and with appropriate context. The collective support for a more active forum with a bolder voice has led to the creation of a communication plan that will be made up of several key elements that will provide robust commentary when required.

Within the meeting, members that included manufacturers, distributors, contractors, and many other interested parties from across the industry, discussed the realities of Integrated Pest Management in the specific context of hard surface weed control. Whilst the narrative surrounding integration is often focussed on alternatives to glyphosate in the form of heat or electrical control methodologies, the group observed that the most appropriate means with which to approach hard surface weed control was the collective use of brushing techniques to minimise the build-up of detritus coupled with accurately applied herbicide.

The forum is keen to grow its base and to incentivise new members by offering reduced rates to interested organisations. Please contact the Amenity Forum for more information.
